The Myth Of Fast Easy Weightloss
I am not sure if you have ever seen the show on NBC called “The Biggest Loser” but it is a show that was developed with a contest for losing weight. They take extremely large people and send them out to a location to stay and compete with each other to see who can ultimately lose the most weight. Reality than shows are popping up everywhere today but this is one of the more popular ones on TV. The reason I think so many people like it is because there are so many people were trying to lose weight and it does debunk the myth of fast easy weight loss. It truly shows how people who are motivated to achieve a goal in the proper environment can succeed. There many people out there trying to lose weight but if they were placed on a TV show where they would win a large sum of money if they succeeded. That definitely puts a spin on things and provide the added motivation.
Typically there is no such a thing as fast easy weight loss. If you want to lose weight correctly and do the right thing and you need to do that by decreasing the amount of calories you take in and increase the amount of daily or weekly exercise you receive. Of course the more calories you decrease and the more exercising increase the more weight you will lose.
And that is what is great about The Biggest Loser. It takes you through and allows you to watch these people who are extremely large sum of them weigh as much as 500 pounds working as hard as they can to drop the weight as quickly as possible. Usually at the beginning they drop weight very fast. But surprisingly there are a few people on the show who work out the glass but do not start to lose weight quickly. And this does show that no matter how much you work out and decrease your calories sometimes dramatic fast weight loss is not possible.
My own personal experience I have read a lot about weight loss and also been on many diets. I lost over 20 pounds in the last year. I was successful successful with that because I watched what I ate, exercise regularly throughout the week, and set goals that I knew I could attain if I stayed on track.
My exercise routine is pretty simple and I actually don’t even go to the gym. I ride my bike five times a week and this is really the key to increasing my metabolism, getting a good cardio workout, and making me feel better. Also do other exercises at my house including stretching, push-ups, situps, crunches, some Pilates, and a little bit of yoga.
I can say that I do feel the most physically fit more than any other time in my life.
Your diet doesn’t necessarily mean you have to jump on Atkins, Slim fast, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, or any of the other advertised diet plans. Just watch what you eat try to cut down on the junk food and make a conscious decision to eat healthier. Start eating more salads, try to cut down on french fries and get other side options that are better for you when possible, just use common sense when you’re faced with options and choices about which would be the healthiest.
Also take away temptation fill your cabinets healthy with high fiber snacks, and the refrigerator don’t buy ice cream, keep vegetables in there to smack on such as carrots, celery, and fruits to help with late-night cravings. This will also help to get you out of the habit of snacking on junk food.
By following these steps and being proactive this is a way you can lose weight at a sensible rate and be able to keep it off for good. Unfortunately many people diet, lose weight, and then gain it back because they revert back to old habits after they achieve their weight loss goal.
